Chief Minister inaugurates modern sports complex in Johar Town

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that with the completion of modern sports complex in Johar Town, citizens have been made available excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities. This modern sports complex, spread over an area of 40 kanals, has been completed in a record time, at a cost of one billion rupees, while the cost of its infrastructure is Rs. 40 crore. He said this modern sports complex is an invaluable gift of Punjab government to the citizens, where separate sports facilities have been made available for men and women. He said modern swimming pools have been constructed in the sports complex, which is the first organized and beautiful sports complex of Lahore, having a captivating landscape, for which Director General LDA, who is also hero of metro bus project, deserves appreciation.  
The Chief Minister expressed these views at the inaugural ceremony of modern sports complex at Johar Town today. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Members Assembly Afzal Khokhar, Rana Ijaz Ahmed Khan, DG LDA and a large number of people of the area were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister inaugurated the sports complex and offered dua. Later, he visited the sports complex and reviewed sports facilities available there. He also played various games with the players.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has served the people with honesty, dedication and sincerity for the last five years, due to which Punjab government is now proud to face the court of the people. He said Transparency International Pakistan has also acknowledged the transparent policies of Punjab government in metro bus project, Ujala programme and laptop scheme, which is a matter of great honor for the government and people of the province. He said those who criticized metro bus project have now been silenced after the report of Transparency International Pakistan. He said no one, including big Khan Sahib, Deputy Prime Minister and Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira, could give any proof of corruption to the Transparency International Pakistan, and when Transparency International Pakistan wrote a letter to them for proofs, they became tongue-tied and their hands started shaking. He said no government or Chief Minister had the courage to present himself for accountability in 65 years’ history of country. He said Punjab government has taken a historic step by presenting itself for accountability and he is thankful to Allah Almighty that Punjab government has been successful in the court of the people. He said Punjab government has covered a great journey of progress, prosperity and development and if Allah Almighty gave another opportunity, this journey would be extended to the whole country. The Chief Minister also announced construction of a Jamia Mosque on the demand of the people of the area. He awarded certificate and gold medal to SM Tanveer of Punjab Industrial Estates, for his splendid services in provision of facilities in industrial estates, besides setting up new industrial estates. Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly presented certificates issued by Guinness Book of World Records for the records set in the Youth Festival.
Earlier, addressing the ceremony, Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhhood Ahmed Khan said it is a matter of honor, not only for province of Punjab, but whole of Pakistan that Transparency International Pakistan has termed three projects of Punjab as completely transparent. He said no ruler has ever presented itself for accountability, and it is only Khadim-e-Punjab, who himself invites his accountability. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said people of other provinces also want similar progress, prosperity and development that has been achieved by Punjab and, if another opportunity is given by the people in forthcoming general elections, the process of progress and prosperity would be spread to every nook and corner of the country.
